How GPA is calculated
Your GPA is a credit-weighted average of grade points. Each letter grade is worth a set number of points on the standard 4.0 scale (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, and so on). For every course, the calculator multiplies its grade points by its credit hours, totals them, and divides by your total credit hours.
Turn on weighted mode to give harder classes extra credit — +0.5 for Honors and +1.0 for AP/IB — which is how most U.S. high schools compute a weighted GPA. To track a running total, enter your prior GPA and credits and the calculator blends them with this term.
Grade points (4.0 scale)
A = 4.0 · A− = 3.7 · B+ = 3.3 · B = 3.0 · B− = 2.7 · C+ = 2.3 · C = 2.0 · C− = 1.7 · D+ = 1.3 · D = 1.0 · D− = 0.7 · F = 0.0
